feelings

Feelings I have decided, need to be kept in check,
like a prisoner in chains,
a little give and take is fine
but no longer than it takes to say hello goodbye!

Feelings I have decided need to be kept under control
like a bowl being filled up with water
just enough to carry without spilling
and overflowing everywhere

Feelings I have decided are not good
but unfortunately my feelings do not like being kept
under control, or in chains
and so I need to deal with
the messiness and the hurt my feelings sometimes cause to others
but usually the messiness and hurt they cause in me... Feelings!
