new era!

having had my two daughters with me for all their lives, it seems to be the beginning of the end! My eldest daughter suddenly announced a few weeks ago she 'thought it was the best thing for her to move out of home and to move an hour away (min) to live with her fiance and another friend.

She then told me this afternoon they might be moving in as early as Friday - this has left me feeling quite upset, but she has to live her own life and make her own mistakes. But oh how hard it is to sit back and watch....

will be interesting to see how it feels for Nikki and I and how Katie copes and feels in a few weeks

One of my favourite songs about children is about a man who opens his arms to hold his newborn child, opens them to welcome them home from school, opens them to console them when they fall and hurt themselves, opens them to congratulate them on their school achievements, opens them to offer support when the first love ends - and opens them to let them go and make their own way. I'm not quite there yet with L., but I know the time is coming... and letting go is not easy.

it hasn't been a problem having arms wide open til now! even when she suddenly text me with the announcement of her engagement, the arms were wide open to her and her fiance!
